Dive into Selfridges' Ultralounge where The House of Fairy Tales, an arts charity for children, presents The Great Endangered Fish Race (30 May - 1 June). Created in collaboration with Andrew Rae and the Peepshow Collective as part of Selfridges' Project Ocean, The Great Endangered Fish Race is an ocean-themed treasure hunt where families have to race to discover the threats to marine life and learn about measures we can take to save them.
Project Ocean is a coordinated effort by Selfridges and some twenty environmental and conservation groups to promote marine conservation and highlight issues of over-fishing and threats to the ocean while celebrating its beauty. The themed programme of events and activities includes Selfridges' basement being transformed into a seabed scene, complete with weird characters from the ocean floor in fancy dress.
Among those participating in the programme is Jason Atherton, of recently opened Pollen Street Social, who was also selected as one of the best chefs working today in Phaidon's book Coco, and who is sharing a sustainable-fish recipe for Pollock Chowder.
