Phaidon’s New York store is celebrating a double dose of design this weekend (15 May). In partnership with Interni Magazine and Room and Board, the Phaidon store is hosting a reception to mark the publication of Jonathan Olivares’s new book, A Taxonomy of Office Chairs and the start of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).

With a glass of something chilled by Domaine de Canton or Brooklyn Brewery in hand, the evening gives visitors the chance to hear a talk by Olivares about his interest in office chairs and view an installation of an Eames Aluminum Group Management chair next to one disassembled with all its parts displayed. A window display also charts the evolution of the base of chairs which are referenced in A Taxonomy of Office Chairs, and will be in the store throughout May.

To attend the event, email TAXONOMY to store.soho@phaidon.com.
