Highlights from two books by the award-winning illustrator
Known in France as the 'prince of pre-school books', Hervé Tullet takes the concept of reading to a new level, teaching young minds to think imaginatively, independently and creatively. At this year's Bologna Children's Book Fair Tullet will give two workshops from his latest series of board books Let's Play Games! (28-31 March).
The first of Tullet's workshops takes place on Monday 28 March, at 4.30pm, in Tensostruttura Spazio Verde Granarolo/Montagnola park and the other is on Tuesday 29 March, at 10am, in Simon Spazio per le idee. Both should be excellent opportunities to engage with this creative illustrator and author who, after studying Fine Art, initially worked as an Art Director before finding his way into advertising.
In 1994 he published his first children's book and found his vocation. A father to three young children, Tullet is never short of inspiration; his books are a vibrant riot of colours and shapes, perfect for busy minds and little fingers.
Let's Play Games! is a bright and lively series of books that work like games. Children can choose from The Game of Finger Worms, The Game of Mix-up Art, The Game of Light, The Game of Patterns, The Game of Mix and Match and The Game of Let's Go!
