Over the past year, London College of Fashion students have been creating collections inspired by the great Ballets Russes - the 'itinerant' company directed by Serge Diaghilev, which became renowned in the early 20th century for making dramatic statements via exciting combinations of dance, music and art - and filming their efforts as they've gone along.

The resulting production forms the centrepiece of a special event taking place this Friday to tie in with the Victoria and Albert Museum's autumn exhibition Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes, 1909 - 1929.

Ballets Russes Design Perspectives will take place at the V&A on Friday 19 November from 8.00pm. As well as the film screening, the evening will feature a hotly anticipated performance by members of the English National ballet to showcase the clothes designed by the LCF students.
