The Giacometti Variations: John Baldessari's site-specific show for the Fondazione Prada
Highlights from the California-based conceptual artist's latest show
If you haven't already got involved there's still time to register for John Baldessari's latest project, Your Name in Lights, which will be running as part of the 2011 Sydney Festival (until 30 January).
Inspired by the modern obsession with celebrities, the work is a comment on Andy Warhol's prediction that in the future everyone would have their 15 minutes of fame. For the American conceptual artist's work 100,000 people will have the chance to have their name projected for 15 seconds across a 30-metre screen that will be operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the duration of the Festival.
Register now on the Sydney Festival's website to see your name (or that of a friend or one of your family) transformed into an artwork.
Follow the link to twothousand for more details about the project.
