Curated by New York-based Cabinet Magazine, The Slice: Cutting to See explores the correlating aspect of our perception of 'inner' and 'outer', the revelations and inspiration that come when delving beyond the surface to reveal what lies beneath.

The exhibition, on show at the Architecture Association's gallery in London (until 15 December) ranges in scope from architecture and metaphysics to medicine and geology. On show in a variety of guises are an eclectic range of objects and renderings, from architectural cutaways to a tonsil guillotine, an ant farm and Salvador Dali's surrealist film, Un Chien Andalou (with it's notorious eye-slitting moment).
