Birth (2004) directed by Jonathan Glazer

Olivier Père selected Jonathan Glazer as one of the best emerging film directors working today and chose the film Birth as an example that best represents his work.

Birth (2004):
Ten years after the untimely death of her husband, Anna (Nicole Kidman) is tentatively emerging from her grief and taking steps to begin afresh. She agrees to marry Joseph (Danny Huston), who has patiently courted her for three years. Life seems to hold promise again, but then a ten-year-old boy (Cameron Bright) appears, claiming to be her husband reincarnated. Something about the boy, with his pervasive certainty, calm uncontainable force, and unquestionable memories, disrupts her on a profound level. She can’t get him out of her mind, and against all her logic, sanity, and intelligence, she begins to be convinced.
